A Million Suns Winner and New Giveaway...

Congratulations  Sally Michele Shaw (you should have received an email from me) for winning the copy of  A Million Suns by Beth Revis!  I hope you love the book!!!

For my newest Giveaway (which will run for 2 weeks again this cycle) we have The Name of the Star by Maureen Johnson.  I was actually a little afraid to read this book (because it is about Jack the Ripper, and he freaks me out), but I love Maureen so I took the chance.  Let me just say that I'm so glad that I did.  I can only hope that whoever wins this, will love it as much as I did!

You can follow Maureen Johnson at www.maureenjohnsonbooks.com or on Twitter @maureenjohnson

The day Louisiana teenager Rory Deveaux arrives in London marks a memorable occasion. For Rory, it’s the start of a new life at a London boarding school. But for many, this will be remembered as the day a series of brutal murders broke out across the city, gruesome crimes mimicking the horrific Jack the Ripper events of more than a century ago.
Soon “Rippermania” takes hold of modern-day London, and the police are left with few leads and no witnesses. Except one. Rory spotted the man police believe to be the prime suspect. But she is the only one who saw him. Even her roommate, who was walking with her at the time, didn’t notice the mysterious man. So why can only Rory see him? And more urgently, why has Rory become his next target? In this edge-of-your-seat thriller, full of suspense, humor, and romance, Rory will learn the truth about the secret ghost police of London and discover her own shocking abilities.

  1. Thanks so much for the giveaway opportunity. This book does sound spine tingling. I was a bit nervous when I read The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova.

  18. Can't say I've ever fallen in love with any book that scared me. I remember reading R.L. Stine's adult's book *Superstitious* when I was 14 or 15, and being so scared that I'd jump everytime I heard a noise.

  19. I once read a book for school called And Then There Were None. It was kinda scary because all of the people kept dieing, but finding out who murdered them was cool. Because that was what you were trying to figure out the whole book.

  20. When I was little, the R.L. Stine children's chapter books scared me senseless LOL Now I wonder how I ever found them scary :]

  21. I agree about The Historian. I absolutely loved that book but was so freaked when reading it. Dean Koontz's books scare me for some reason. But I also got creeped when reading Jennifer McMahon's books. One inparticular is Don't Breathe a Word.
